My name is Mark Thompson, head of OBIEE training for Maverick Solutions, a full-line Oracle and PeopleSoft training company based in Raleigh, NC.

I teach OBIEE. That's it -- that's what I do. I design the curriculum, write the materials, and present the classes. Need a class customized with your company's data and dimensions? We do that!

For the most part, I really like OBIEE. It's very flexible, and very powerful, and Oracle is enhancing it in some wonderful ways. However, there are times when it's frustrating, and I don't ever attempt to hide my disappointment with what I consider to be a lack of appropriate focus by Oracle, particularly regarding bugs and less than optimal design decisions.

I live in Murphy, TX, about 30 miles north of Dallas. I'm a semi-professional trumpet player, and regularly play Taps for military funerals as part of Bugles Across America (www.buglesacrossamerica.org).

And if anyone else knows what "Forty-Two" is, round up two other people and we'll break out the dominoes!
